Upcycled from 100% deconstructed and repurposed local clothing waste. Each one, one of a kind -  size 6-12 months, made to be worn during the phases of learning to crawl and walk in dirt, grass, and sand.

Made as a meditiation on the modern baby onesie and aloha ʻāina (love for the land), each piece took approximately three hours to cut and sew, not including creating the pattern, sourcing the material, etc. When I look at some of my daughter's onesies I am amazed by their perfection, their impeccable finishings, sometimes their embroidery work, and always how cheap they are. Our globalized means of having cheap, perfect garments, is made possible by profoundly devalued labor and production at enormous scale. In today's cothing manufacturing, the math work out, and the scale leads to enormous waste. When following an ʻāina-based model, on the otherhand, nature's abundance is the law, and labor is a sacred bond of kuleana.
